The NIFC conference has been monitoring the situation as it relates to the Covid-19 situation. The conference will rely heavily on the announcements made by the IHSA, State of Illinois, as well as the federal government, to direct our actions. The Conference has always maintained that player safety is of the utmost importance. That stance is certainly extended to parents, fans and the general public. Our desire, of course, is to start the season as scheduled, and based on the statements made by all parties referenced above, we believe that it will. The current time frame given by those governing bodies to begin “normal” activities is June 1, 2020. If that date changes, we will communicate it to our membership through the head representatives. Should any organization or parent have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact one of the executive board members. Questions can be submitted from the Contact Us page on the site.
In 2006 some courageous, driven individuals with a common vision for better youth tackle football got together and started planning what is now the NIFC. In 2007 that vision became a reality.
The NIFC was created in 2006 in efforts to bring a more positive experience to the youth in our communities. While football is a competitive sport, we believe that life lessons can be taught and learned through playing the game of football.
The NIFC currently has grown to a total of 16 great organizations that participate. We believe it is important to manage growth so that all athletes are provided a positive experience. We encourage organizations wishing to make a change to contact us as we are always looking for those who fit our philosophy.
The NIFC continues to provide a fun, safe, and competitive environment. Our philosophy is simple...."It's about the kids!"
